I am - For Sarah.

I am a poet writing of my pain,
I am a person living a life of shame,
I am your daughter hiding my depression,
I am your sister, making a good impression,
I am your friend acting like I'm fine
I am a wisher, wishing this life weren't mine
I am a girl who thinks of suicide
I am a teenager pushing her tears aside
I am a student who doesn't have a clue
I am the girl sitting next to you
I am the one asking you to care
I am your best friend hoping, you will be there.

Another Statistic. - For Myself.

I don't want to be another statistic,
some suicidal teen,
Who makes a choice to kill herself
When the world just seems to mean
She can't go on with her life,
Or so to her it seems,
Reality has fallen short
And so have her many dreams.

I don't want to be another statistic,
Some Pregnant little girl
Who met this great guy
And then gave sex a whirl
She was only fifteen
But it felt so right
She was so stupid to think
they'd be together for more then a night.

I don't want to be another statistic,
Some kid strung out on crack
Who started off at a party
And now she cant turn back
First Cigarettes and alcohol
Now meths, crack and cocaine.
She's been smoking it so long
That now she's gone Insane.

I don't want to be another statistic,
Some kid outta school,
Who dropped out really early
And was acting like a fool
She thought that it was boring,
She thought that it was dumb
She doesn't have an education
And now lives like a bum.

I don't want to be another statistic,
Some girl left in the rain,
Who was walking home from school
Then raped and left in pain
She can't tell her parents
And it hurts to tell her friends
She doesn't know what she'll do
To make the nightmare end.

I don't want to be another statistic,
some stereotypical teen,
I'm gonna make a difference,
I'll start with finishing my dreams.
I wont end up pregnant
On drugs or even dead.
I won't drop outta school.
Cause I'll use my head.

I don't want to be another statistic,
To fit in some mold.
Of what society thinks of kids today
Because its getting, really old.
Not all of us are bad.
In fact, most of us are good
when will the world see US?
And give us credit like that we deserve.

Your poems is pretty awesome too, deep and insightful, real and life related, everyone is like that from time to time. Some knows it too well and some will soon have to learn it.

Love

Some say love, it is a river
that drowns the tender reed,
Some say love, she is a razor,
that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, she is a hunger
and endless aching need,
But I, I sat love,
It is a flower.
And you its only seed.

It is the heart that is afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance,
It is the dream that is afraid of waking
that never takes the chance,
It is the one who won't be taken
who cannot seem to give,
And the soul afraid of dying,
So much, that it never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely,
and the road had been too long
Then you'd think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong
But just remember in the winter,
far beneath the bitter snow.
Lies the seed that with the sun's love.
In the spring becomes the rose.
